Aikey's, Brown's, and more of Central PA Updated October 19, 2009

My research is mostly focused on the surname Aikey.I've found that all of the Aikey's within Central Pennsylvania can be traced to one Lewis Aikey, born in 1789 and died in 1862. And it is with him that my research has stalled, in that I have not been able to find any evidence of where he came from, let alone who his parents are.There are records from Lebanon, Northhampton, and Berks County that show in their County histories that the name may be dervied from Auchey, etc.The surname has been shown in a few census records in England and it might be of interest that there is a stone circle in Scottland, known as Aikey Brae. If anyone has anything to share with me, including branches of trees that connect to mine, I would be more than happy to merge them.
