|This is a late geneology search. I've just about waited too long to get information about my family, mainly because anyone who might know something has died. I'm sorry to say. What info I have gathered is sparce to say the least.|
My father, Hugh Arnold Parker, was a rounder. With at least 5 ex's, and countless wanna be's. Not well known by his children. Maybe thats just as well.
Anyway my grandfather was wonderful to me even thou He would'nt let me go hunting because I am a girl. His name, Joe Hardy Parker, married Mary Katherine Means. Their children, Ola, George, Ollie, Hugh, James, are all gone but not forgotten.
I hope I am able to find where Daddy Joe came from and my Nanny.
Their last home was in Batson, Tx., Close to Hull and Moss Hill.
My half-sister has told me nanny would tell her about some of her family. That they had come to Texas from Mississippi in a covered wagon. Mary Katherine Means had two sisters that we know of , one Lissie and Lizzie who married a Neal, son Prentiss Neal, don't know of any others.
My grandfather had 5 brothers, Vosse, who was a Postal carrier in Hull for many years. Another, Macon or Malcolm. Can't dig up the others, yet.
My Grand father was supposed to have owned land and house in Batson, before he had an accident and broke his back in a oil field.
There's bound to be people still out here that remember the Parker's and hopefully I can get in contact with them.
