The Ernest R. Alexander Family of Barrie, Ontario, Canada

I am researching the Alexander Family. I have reached back three generations to a William Alexander who came from Ireland to Barrie Ontario around 1860. Both he and his wife Susan disappeared from the tax rolls in Barrie in 1870. I can find no cemetery record of either. They had 4 children who all stayed in the Barrie area.
I was born and lived all my life in Barrie, Ontario and all of my family live here as well. For the past 10 years I spend the winter months in Punta Gorda Florida.
I am also researching the Emery Family. The first record I can find is Israel Emery who was born September, 1832 at King Township (York) Ontario.
