I am working on a Family History of my my grandmother Mrs. Ole Mary (Hanson) (Nyhus in Norway) Rykhus. She was born in Dovre, Gudbrandsdalen, Norway on November 1, 1867 and died in Mankato, MN March 23,1958. What a delightful and hard working lady she was! I need help finding info on THREE of Her SISTERS by December 15,2002: 1. Mrs. Elmer Tillie (Hanson) (Nyhus in Dovre,Gud., Norway) Ronning aka Running who was born in January 13,1877 and died perhaps in childbirth in Fargo, ND ? in February 29,1908. Her daughter was Mabel Cline who was born in 1901 and died in Seal Beach, CA. She married Harold Cline and had two children-Patricia, born January 16, 1933 and Richard. The parents had a wheat farm in Lind, WA. Her son was Clifford "Harry" Ronning (born 1903) and married "Babe". They lived by Spokane, WA and he worked for the IRS.They had one son Robert in the insurance business. The dates of birth and death and names of spouses, children and grandchlldren would be most helpful.Perhaps descendants of Tillie could contact me. 2. Mrs. Carl Kari aka Carrie (Hanson) (Nyhus in Norway) Hendricks who lived most of her life in Melfort, Sask., Canada. She was born in Dovre, Norway also in May 1874 and died in 1966. Her children were two boys and a girl.Clifford I think was the oldest. Then came Harold born in 1914.I was told one of the sons married a lady in England during World War II. One of the boys may have had polio and sought treatment in St. Louis, MO. The only daughter was Blanche and I have no info on her. It would be a joy to receive info as requested in paragraph 1. 3. Baby girl Marit (Hanson or Olson in America) Nyhus in Norway.Marit was born in the same town in Norway (Dovre) as her sisters. She may have been born February 06,1891 and died in 1893 ?, maybe in Mankato, MN.I need birth dates, death date, location, and cause of death. Three of us enjoyed the wonderful "Hurtigruten" mail ship journey from Bergen to Kirkenes, Norway in '96.Then we visited kin around Dovre, Gud., Norway and had a mountain top experience at the seter my grandmother had lived in! We had coffee made from a spring she would have used. Today I received my copy of "news of Norway" published by the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Washington D.C. It comes out quarterly, runs a dozen pages, and is free by calling 1-202-333-6000 or the e-mail address is [email protected] Thanks for any help you can give, Roy F.
