Barthélemy was in exile with his father in 1757.On June 9, 1759, he left his family to look for work, with his brother Charles Amand.The next time he was heard from was on August 2, 1782, wen he signed a petition in Grand Rustico, Ils Saint Jean, asking for help.It is probably here that he got married.Barthélemy and Marie Madeleine Doiron are the ancestors of all Muises around the Gulf of St. Lawrence:Cape Breton, Magdalen Island, Newfoundland and the Bay des Chaleurs.

The Frontain family (modern spellings include Frotten, Fraughten) was an integral part of The Forks (Quinan) from the time it was first settled. It seems that the first Frontain settled there upon his return from exile.He was Julien Frontain, sometimes referred to as Alexandre Frontain - perhaps his name was Julien Alexandre or Alexandre Julien.We first find him in 1762 among the Acadians in exile in Massachusetts, under the name Julien Forten, and again in 1763, where he is with his wife Anne Mius, two sons and a daughter.In 1766, his name is given as Gullien Fronten.Fahter Sigongne put down his name as Frontain, a name found in France, particulary in Normandy.
