My FTM file contains close to 700 names after a year's worth ofresearch. WFT CD's 1-7, and SS death records often provided crucial links connecting families. A history of Watauga County (NC) families was VERY important as well as several family histories. Many of the families in here originated in Western North Carolina, Watauga County and the towns of Boone, Vilas, Sugar Grove, Deep Gap, ect. Father- Paternal-I have only ben able to trace the Atkins line back to his grandfather, very sketchily and through word of mouth only. -Maternal- I have a treasure trove here. His mother was a Shell and this line I can trace back to German immigrants in the late 17th to early 18th century to PA. Her mother was a Harmon, a line that is also traceable back to the same time period. Weaving throughout the Shell & Harmon lines are several Duggers and Trivetts Mother- Her Parent's were Lewis + Hodges, with Parkers on the Maternal side. If you have any information about Western NC Atkins', please e-mail me! Thanks Michael Atkins
