First of all I commit my soul in the hands of almighty GOD that gave it and my body to a decent burial, do now make this my last will and testement, that is to say, one horse, four head of cattle, and all the hogs that I have except the hourd gangue and all the household furniture. Abel Boggs was born in 1812, near Calhoun, Wise co., and the first of the Boggs family to migrate across the big black mountain from the Sonega, Virginia area down into Franks Creek at Eolia, Letcher co., Kentucky.Abel was the son of Eli, born 1786.Abel is listed in the 1840 census of Harlan (now Letcher) co., KY, living in the Eolia area and the first of the Boggs family to migrate into Kentucky.
