Carl George Farmer, 86 of Clinton, died Wednesday, May 26, 2004, at Fort Sanders Park West Medical Center.
He was a member of Dutch Valley United Methodist Church. He was former owner and operator of Courtesy Gas Station in Clinton, Clinton Feed Store, and he was also a former employee of the Tennessee Valley Authority. He retired from Rust Engineering in Oak Ridge as a machine operator. His favorite hobby was raising Charlais Cattle and donkeys.
He was a member of the Clinton Alpha Masonic Lodge, No. 376 F & AM and the Scottish Rite of Free Masonry for 50 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents William G. and Elizabeth Burris Farmer; sisters, Beulah Peters, Marie Cochran and Ruth McCarty; and brothers, Mack Farmer and Clyde Farmer.
Mr. Farmer is survived by his wife Mabel Brown Farmer; a brother-in-law, Jesse McCarty of Knoxville; a sister-in-law, Rushia Farmer of Kingston; several nieces and nephews and his favorite buddy, Outlaw.
The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 29, 2004, in the chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with the Rev. Brenda Poole and the Rev. Joe Bridges officiating.
Burial will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 30, at Dutch Valley United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home
