Notes for Ichabod Wiswall:
Ichabod was educated at Harvard College and was the ordained pastor of the Duxbury Church in 1676 and was a agent for the Plymouth colony, in England, to obtain a new charter in 1689.This brought him into a diplomatic controversy with the Reverand Increase Mather who was exerting himself to obtain a charter that would unite Massachusetts, Plymouth and Maine under one government.Mather was successful, but Wiswall proved himself a worthy opponent and devoted representative of the interests of Plymouth.
