The Bridgman family originated in Winchester, County Hants, England. Research stems from James Bridgman whose first recorded dates in the United States were in Hartford, CT around March 3, 1640. Lineage is based on his son John born 1645 in Springfield, CT and in turn had four sons of his own. These are the four branches of the Bridgman family that The Bridgman Genealogy traces. I have a copy of that book written by Burt Nichols Bridgman and Joseph Clark Bridgman, published in Hyde Park, MA in 1894. The four sons were Deliverance, Isaac, Ebenezer and Orlando. I am descended from the Isaac branch or sometimes called the Hanover, NH branch. I know other copies of the book exist because I have been contacted since using the Family Tree Maker earlier versions. I welcome inquiries and would also welcome any information pertaining to the Bridgman genealogy.
