John BROOKHART, dec.
M.B. HOLMAN, Esq. appointed guardian of the [??heirs] and estate of of
C. Ellen BROOKHART.
The petition of C. Ellen BROOKHART by her mother Charlotte SCOTT was
read to the court representing that the petitioner is a minor daughter
of John BROOKHART late of the borough of Liverpool, Perry Co., PA.
deceased, under the age of fourteen years.The she has no guardian
legally authorized to take charge of her personal estate that it is
inc___ent for her to attend court she therefore prays the court to
appoint M.B. HOLMAN esq. for said purposes.Whereupon, April 6, 1866
The Court upon dire consideration do appoint M.B. HOLMAN Esq. quardian
over the person and estate of said minor during her minority or until
discharged according to law.

According to Ancestry.com, John was a Civil War soldier.He enlisted as a Private on 17 August 1863 and served for the Union side for PA. and was drafted in Company C, 149th Infantry Regiment Pennsylvania.He was killed in Company C, 149th Infantry Regiment PA on 23 May 1864 in North Anna River, VA.He is listed as having "distinguished service".
