In the name of God Amen I George Bowman of the County of Frederick being of Sound and Perfect Mind & Memorys thanks be to God for it Do this Day make & Publish this my Last Will & testament in manner & for in following & vzt Imprissus I Give & Bequeath to my Well beloved Wife Mary Bowman One full third Part of my movable Estate.

ItemMy will & Desire is that the tract of Land & plantation Where on I now Live Which contains Seven hundred & twenty Acres be divided in four Equal Parts Which I give & Bequeath in Manner following & vzt The house & Plantation With the Land joyning there to according to the Division I Give to my son Isaac to be by him Possessed When He comes of Age With this reserve only that it is my Will & Desire that my Well beloved Wife Mary shall live thereon & enjoy the same During her Natural Life: that parcel of the Said tract Whereon the mill is I Give to my son George Together with the mill according to the Said Division & that Part of the Said tract Joyning the Plantation according to the SaidDivision I give to my Son Abraham and the other Remaining part I give to my Son Joseph to be by them possessed When they come of age.

Notes for Captain Isaac Bowman: Lieutenant in Clark's expedition.He was captured by Indians in November, 1779, and was at first treated with great cruelty.Then a chief took a fancy to him and wished to make him his son-in-law.He was treated kindly thereafter, and lived with the tribe until, with the assistance of a trader, he was able to escape.He was next heard of in Cuba, whence he returned to the old Bowman house near Strasburg, when he died.He married first Elizabeth Gatewood; second, Mary Chinn.By the first marriage, there were four children:Philip, who settled in Switzerland County, Indiana, and left a large family.(2) Abraham, (3) Cretiarisse, (4) Susan. By his second wife, Mary Chinn, Lieut. Isaac Bowman had nine children:(5) Joseph, (6) John, (7) Eliza, (8) Isaac, who married Eleanor Briscoe Hite, and had a daughter Mary, who married ? Admitted as Freeman of West Greenwich in 30 September 1762.He helped build a grist mill and received half interest in it in 1729.He bought land in East Greenwich (now West Greenwich) 22March 1730 and sold it 28 June 1731.He bought land in Exeter, Rhode Island 12 February 1745, 20 February 1750 and sold it 24 March 1750, 15 January 1753, 10 January 1754, 10 December 1756, 27 January 1757, and 7 March 1745.
He petitioned the Rhode Island General Assembly for highway in North Kingston 14 June1731.
As a cripple,he petitioned the Rhode Island General Assembly to be released from debtor's prison February 1747 and August 1754.
He was posted as a common Tipler or drunkard in West Greenwich 11 February 1758.
His estate was inventoried in West Greenwich 24 May 1771.He was insolvent.
His son Capt. William Hiams was administer of Benjamin's estate April 1771.
