Andrew Johnson (President) signed a return of lands (taken during Civil War) to James F. Vaughan and a Pardon because he served as an officer in the Civil War for the South.
Mickey's father was also in the Civil War.Vaughans have a shoe of the mule he rode in the War.The mule saved him from freezing when they slept next to each other out in the fields.
Vaughans have the wrought iron gate from the family cemetery (with lambs on it) labelled 1869, Fielding Vaughan.Family cemetery was on the old plantation near Selma, AL.Jim and his mother Mickeywent to see it by train (and were in a train wreck in Colorado).
