Greenleaf, Roancy Dutton, b. in Jaffrey, Feb. 2, 1809; d. there in the eighties; dau. of William and Abigail (Smith) Dutton. They had five ch., all b. in Jaffrey: 1. Mary Roancy7, b., Aug. 16, 1831; m. 1st, June 2, 1852, Johnson Plummer, b. in Goffstown, Jan. 11, 1822; d. there, Feb. 11, 1857; son of Jesse T. and Hannah (Johnson) Plummer; m. 2d, May 1, 1859, Addison Joseph Adams, b. in Troy, N. H., June 22, 1829; son of Jesse and Ruth (Perkins) Adams. She had three ch.: 1. Charles Henry Plummer8, b. in Goffstown, Feb. 26, 1854; 2. Everett Freeman Adams8, b. in Jaffrey, Mar. 16, 1862; 3. Elmer Jesse Adams8, b. in Jaffrey, Feb. 4, 1864; m., Apr. 27, 1886, Alice Luella Bemis, b. in Troy, N. H., Apr. 2, 1862; dau. of Edmund and Mary (Kimball) Bemis. 2. Freeman Jonathan7, b. Feb. 11, 1834; m., Oct. 23, 1862, Abbie Haywood, b. in Jaffrey, Oct. 23, 1834, dau. of Benjamin and Polly (Sawyer) Haywood. He was a large and influential furniture dealer, located at first in Peoria, Ill., later at St. Louis, Mo. He d. at Clifton Springs, N. Y., Dec. 11, 1900. Two ch.: 1. Mary Ella8, b. in Peoria, Ill., Aug. 13, 1863; 2. William Freeman8, b. in Peoria, Ill., Aug. 1, 1865, a furniture dealer in that place, for a time, now with the Fidelity Trust Co., Kansas City, Mo. 3. William Dutton7, b., May 19, 1839; m., Nov. 27, 1867. Susan F. Gregory. He was in the furniture business in Sacramento, Cal., where their dau., Sophia Gregory8, was b., May 4, 1872. 4. David Jewett7, b., May 16, 1841; d. in Jaffrey, Oct. 19, 1841. 5. Charles Smith7, b., Apr. 28, 1843; d. in Jaffrey, Sept. 10, 1849.
