Wohllebengasse 7 # 9
|The De Klerk's come from the middle of the Netherlands, south of Utrecht, to be more precise from Vreeswijk (Cornelis de Clerq, born around 1585). Around 1730 Izaak de Klerq, a teacher (December 1708 - October 1757), moved to Kedichem, 25 kilometer to the south. Most family members lived in that area for the next two centuries. I would be interested to know whether there are any links to the US.|
The grandfather of my wife Vicki Rubin, Benjamin Rubin, came to the US in 1904 from Bialystok (now in Poland, then in Russia). The family name before entry in the US might have been Leshinsky, but nobody seems to know for sure.
From her mother's side Vicki's family comes from Steinsfurt (her grandfather Julius Weil) and Breisach (her grandmother Helen Kahn). The Kahn's have been traced back in Breisach to Moses Meïr Kahn (1755 - 7 January 1813) and his son Köschel Kahn (19 November 1800 - 1873). The Weil family lived in Steinsfurt at least from the time that Löw Feis-Weil (11 June 1751 - 18 November 1826) lived there with his brothers Moises (19 October 1755 - 10 April 1831) and Jsaak (7 November 1757 - ?).
