William Stainback Fawn (b. Abt. 1755)

Note: Capt. William Fawn married his cousin, Elizabeth Harrison in Lunenberg, Virginia in 1790. Elizabeth, who was the widow of George Stainback, was living in Prince George, Virginia as was William and Elizabeth's uncle, Benjamin Harrison of Martin Brandons Parish in Prince George Co. Benj. Harrison names both Elizabeth and William in his will and stipulates that part of their inheritance be given only if they marry. They did marry and moved to North Carolina. Cheryl Lehman

Text: Wilmouth Fawn DeVaney was the daughter of Captain William and Elizabeth (Harrison) Stainback/Stanback Fawn. She was a member of the prominent Harrison family of Virginia. Captain Fawn received over 3800 acres of property in North Carolina for services rendered during the war. Both William and Elizabeth Fawn died in Franklin County.
