|Robert William Dibling|

|The Dibling Family I KnowLouis Dibling married Mary (or Maria) Cline sometime before 1850 in Germany. He was from Essen and she from Dierbach. The came to the US in 1850, sailing from Havre to NY in the Robert Kelly in 1850. It may have been a honeymoon, maybe a wedding trip of some kind. Apparently other brothers preceded Louis in coming to America. Louis and Mary lived in Cleveland (OH) where at least one child (William, my grandfather) was born. There was a daughter born in Cridersville (OH), and an older sister. A younger brother disappeared when he was in his teens (also named Louis). There was a brother Martin. What I'm looking for is a clue to who were Louis and Mary's ancestors, and what happened to young Louis. He apparently disappeared sometime around 1880-82. A Louis Dibling who appears in some listings married a Mary Stribling. This was not the Louis I'm looking for. Grandfather William was born in Cleveland (OH) and lived in Perrysburg (OH) from about 1885 until his death in 1952. He married Elizabeth Haas in 1885. This is about all I've been able to find out. |
For myself, My father was Charles Dibling, a wholesale drygoods salesman out of Toledo for may years. He passed away in FL. My mother was Marcella Lauer whose ancestors have been checked back to 1770 or thereabouts. If there's anything someone wants concerning that family, I'll try to help.D.
