I am currently trying to research the family name of mine - Doel,I come from Wiltshire in England.Surnames which are also included in the search are Dallaway, Webb and Vines ,oh and Henley too.I have been told that "DOEL" is originally a dutch surname.I have just started, and i am getting nowhere, i would be grateful for anyone out there, who knows ANYTHING, about this family history- to please contact me.Some of my relatives/ancestors may have lived in london at one time. All i know really at present is that my great great grandfather owned a small village shop in the wiltshire village of Hilperton. My Great grandfather was in the Metropolitan police, during the 1st world war, and was present when a bomb was dropped on to Hyde Park in London!!My greatgrandmother who is still alive, was a headmistress of a school in Hilperton, and she was also the youngest organist of britain when she was about 6, (around 1912) and thats as far as i know at present, sad i know, but i just cant seem to get anywhere!! So please help!!
