This website is dedicated to my Dad (Ben Dorscher) and my Mom (Evelyn Burgad), who have now passed on.
To hear family stories as a child is to get just a glimpse of the drama and joy, passion and humor that is part of every family's history. To find out more is a chance to enrich my life, for none of us are created in a vacuum and, in many ways, our ancestors influence our destinies. The fun is in finding out how.
This website is a place for me to record a great deal, not only about those who came before me, but about myself and the people I am sending into the world.Chances are that in gathering this material, I will gain new insights into family characteristics, discover revelations about relationships, and acquire a real appreciation of family endeavors and accomplishments.
As I consider these pages, something else will happen:My identity will begin to take shape more clearly.Knowing where I come from helps me know who I am.Thinking about the past brings me closer to grandparents, parents and even children, for the information I present here will provide everyone with a sense of family history and continuity.
Thus, within this website, I will be creating stronger family ties, reawakening family pride, and most of all, keeping the memory of people alive for their descendants. The fun I will have with this website is pleasure for the moment, but the greatest satisfaction will be in preserving memories that otherwise might be lost forever.
In creating this website I am hoping to reunite with relatives that I haven't heard from in awhile or relatives that I have not even meet.I am hoping that through this journey you also will become a part of this website.
If you have any information that you can send me, it would be greatly appreciated for all to see.My email address is DamL8Again@msn.comChoosing some photographs to be included in this website could be difficult for you, but it is important.Pictures tend to become scattered, diffused among family members. So any you decide to send me will hold the promise of preserving, at least, a portion of the familys history in one place. The older photographs are, the more precious they become, since for a moment they hold still the one thing that never stops, time. The pictures we include are a joy to us now but they will be treasures indeed to the generations to come. Please send as many as you can.
Thank You so much
