In the latter part of 1879, Cleveland erected a monument to recognize theservice of their soldiers and sailors who participated in the Civil War. At the dedication there were hundreds of menin the honor procession. The Sixth Regiment,Uniformed Rank Independent Order of Odd Fellows, led the First Brigade of theFourth Division. Captain R. W. Drackettassisted the Colonel. There were 300 OddFellows who marched in the procession.
