|I am researching Ancestors & Relatives of my great grandfather, John Dumser, b.1845 in Bayern, Germany, d.1908 in St. Louis. He had one son, my grandfather, and 5 daughters and raised his family in St. Louis. He is reported to have had a number of brothers, one of whom may have been a Franz Dumser who had a store named Fahrrandlung Store in Herxheim Landau, Pfalz, Germany. It was reported to be in the city where there was a large machine factory named Gretzner A-G Durlach.|
I have heard that there were some Dumsers in Illinois, who visited relatives in St. Louis. The relative in St, Louis was probably my great-grandfather.
I'm sure some of the connections between many of the Dumser families in this country today, is through the Dumsers who immigrated here in the 1840 - 1850 time frame.I believe if we could establish the connections between my great grandfather, John Dumser, 1845-1908 and his brothers, one of whom may have been your ancestor, we would have a clearer picture.
I am attempting to build a family tree linking all of the Dumsers in the United States, and would welcome any information you can provide.I will gladly share the results of my research.
Jack Dumser (John Magnus Dumser, Jr. b.1937)
