I am gathering information on four family lines.The EATONs and BENNETTs are from New York, Connecticut and Pennsylvania.The HANKINS and THAXTON/THACKSTON families are from Virginina, Alabama and Mississippi.
The BENNETT family has roots in early Long Island, New York, with early ancestors such as Lewis Bennett (b1789), son of Israel Bennett; Captain Daniel Roe (b1739) and his wife, Deborah Brewster (b1741); Michael Garrett (b1779); John Andrews (b1620); and Samuel Alling (b1645).Other names included in this line are: Buckley, Clark, Martin, and Gunn.
The earliest ancestors known for the EATON family are Samuel Eaton (b1878) and his wife Meda Cable (b1879).Other names in this line are Gregory, Reynolds, Miller and Rowland.
The earliest relatives in the HANKINS family are Thomas Hankins (b bef1726) and his wife Mary Clevenger (b abt1706); William Sizemore (b abt 1700); Matthew Robinson (b bef 1810 in AL or SC?) and his wife Ann ?; Anderson Nix (b abt 1785), son of James Nix; and Edward Marcy (b 1729).Other names in this line includeChristian, Smith, Bean, Kingsley, Green, Newbold, and Payne.
The earliestTHAXTON ancestor is William Sr. (b 1740).Other names in this line include: Cook, Chesser, and Roberts.
