Dad (John N) was Scottish. He had a farm in Fruita (phonetically spelled), CO and farmed sugar beets.
Dad sold the ranch in Oklahoma to move.He was a bronc busterTook the money and went to Ariz (Lee & Oscar went with him) - then toSalinas where he worked in the lettuce shed.He wanted to move back to Colorado (Dora didn't) and he packed and left.Went to Fruita, CO (Dora stayed in Salinas). He was killed in CO -- poisoned. When Lee and Oscar went to get the body, the coroner told them he should do a autopsy to prove he'd been poisoned, but Lee & Oscar said no and took the body to Califbecause Cora, Betty and Mable insisted that he be buried at Forest Lawn in Los Angeles.
I told Marguerite that one of your searches showed that John was shot by two Mexicans. She said "that could be right".Something about he was making a deal to buy two trucks for the farm.He was robbed and killed (both versions of story)
