I am researching my mothers side of my family tree. The family name is Hay.
Information indicates that members of the Hay family immigrated to North Carolina (or the Carolinas) from Scotland. The first family member in the U.S. I am aware of is David Parham Hay who supposedly fought in the Revoltioary War and enlisted from "the Carolinas."
By the early to mid 1800's some of his descendants were living in the southwest Georgia counties of Early, Seminole and Randolph. Towns involved were Blakely, Donalsonville, Jakin, and Cuthbert.
Any leads would be greatly appreciated.
