Williams, age 69, died suddenly Tuesday, March 4 at her residence at 202 South High Street, Salem. Mrs. Williams was born January 17, 1906. She was a member of the Salem United methodist Church, was a past president of the WSCS of the Church, past president of the Band Parents and the PTA. She was County Health Nurse in 1942-43 and from 1959-70. She served as secretary of the TB Association in 1958, was on the Welfare Department in 1959 and was presently school nurse of the Salem Community Schools. She was citizen of the Year in 1962. and was also a member of the Washington County Mental Health Board. In 1943 she was married to Don U. Williams, who survives, along with two daughter, Miss Linda Williams, Baltimore, Maryland and Mrs. Jane Brewer, Salem; a son James Burgin, Dayton, Ohio; three step-daughters, Mrs. Jane Thompson, Salem, Mrs. Prilda Turner, Los Angeles, California and Mrs. Sarh Chamberlain, Philadelphia, Penn. one sister Mrs. Frances Hodges, Bedford; Eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild. JOHN MEREDITH BURGIN: OBIT -- John Burgin, DOCTOR DIES, RITES TUESDAY Dr. John Meredith Burgin, 33, Passes Away Suddenly At Hospital Funeral arrangements were completed today for Dr. John Meredith Burgin who died suddenly Sunday morning at 10:20 o'clock in Dunn Hospital here. Dr. Burgin was 33 years of age A native of Whitestown, Ind., he was born to Alonzo and Vera Ditzenberger Burgin. and was married to Miss Elsie Foster in Indianapolis Dec. 22, 1932. The family moved to Bedford from Advance, Ind., last Thursday. Beside the wife and mother, he leaves two children, Jane Ann, two years of age, and James Howard, one. The physician was a graduate of the University of Louisville medical school, and was a member of the Methodist church. The remains lie in state at Day-Carter& Roach funeral home, until Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock, when the funeral Party will leave for Salem. Williams, age 84, of 202 S. High Street, Salem died on May 17, at 12:14 p.m. at the Washington County Memorial Hospital. He was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church, a member of the Methodist Men, served on the church board several years, past president of the Salem Lions Club, member of the K. of P. Lodge #21, Scottish Rite Club, Valley of Indianapolis, World War I Barracks 369, American Legion, and V.F.W. Mr. Williams was a graduate of Purdue University, and the owner and operator of the Williams Drug Store, on the Salem Square, for many years. Mr. Williams was born on April 11, 1895 to L. Funeral services Were held a 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the Salem United Methodist Church, with the Reverend Noel Spencer, officiating. Burial was in the Crown Hill Cemetery, with a Flag presentation by World War I Barracks 369. Arrangements were by the Dawalt Funeral Home.
