1 free white male under 16 (?)
2 free white females (Ann, his wife, & dau ?)
In my HARPER file I found this reference to a receipt: "Nov. 30th,1793 - this day received of Zephaniah Harper to the estate of EdgarRumbley, deceased, the sum of One Pound Fifteen Shillings, todayreceived by me.
Benjamin Hinkle." This isproof that Edgar Rumbley is dead in 1793 and that the Harpers hadarrived in NC by 1793.

THIS INDENTURE made the first day of April in the year of our lord 1797 Between Daniel Orrell and Nancy his wife of Rowan County & State of North Carolina of the one part and Daniel Caul of the County & State aforesaid of the other part Wittnesseth that for & in Consideration of the Sum of thirty pounds Current money of North Carolina paid by the said Daniel Caul to the said Daniel Orrell the sought Land payment whereof is here by Acknowledged that the said Daniel Orrell and Nancy his wife hath granted bargained sold Conveyed and Confirmed had by these Presents doth Grant bargain Sell or Lien Convey & Confirm unto the said Daniel Caul his heirs and Assigns forever all the Pressuage Tenement Plantation had on parcel of land Siuate lying & being in the county & State aforesaid & on the West side of Linville Creek beginning at a Hicory Sapling Michl Hinkles Corner running West seven Chains & fifty links to a post oak John Hendrixs Corner thence with his line north forth seven Chains & twenty links to his Corner then East four Chains & fifty links to a Stake thence South to the Beginning Containing in the whole thirty five Acres lo the Same More or less To Have and to hold the aforesaid thirty five Acres of Land with the appurtenances & all Eigth privileages & in provements in any side to the same belonging to him the said Daniel Caul his heirs and Assigns from and they the said Daniel Orrell & Nancy his wife for themselves their heirs & assigns doth hereby Covanant and Assign to & with Daniel Caul that he the said Daniel Caul his heirs & Assigns shall & may for ever hereafter peaceably & Quietly Hold Occupy Possess and enjoy the before mentioned land and promises without the least Molestration of any person or persons whatsoever & free &Clear and Truly from All & all manner of incumbrances Whatsoever and they the said Daniel Orrell & Nancy his wife for themselves their heirs Est Adm & assigns doth hereby promise Covenant & agree that they the said Daniel Orrell & Nancy his wife their heirs Est Adm shall and will at all times warrant and for ever defend the said promise to the said Daniel Caul his heirs and assigns against the lawful Claims whatsoever whereby the above Mentioned promise might or may be affected or incumbered Contrary to the true intent & meaning of these presents
