Conrad, Fred and Lewis Schaffer owned a soap factory located on the North side of Pittsburgh, PA which was handed down from their father.

These are the recollections of Louise Funk about her parents Conrad and Louisa:
I don't know what prompted my father and mother to leave Pittsburgh.They moved to Avon Park, Girard, Ohio and built a home and the White Lily Soap Factory.When Louise was 7 or 8 years old they moved to 23 Hazel Street in Girard.They were forced out of the Soap factory and became Hucksters of some sort and sold junk and later produce.Louisa yodeled and Conrad played the mouth organ.They had many songfests singing the songs of the 1890's.Later her brother Coonie sang and her sister Irene played the piano.They performed in Girard in their early teens.Conrad had a ruptured appendix and died at age 57 from peritonitas.Louisa had angina and was found dead in her chair at age 76 from heart failure.
