Please contact me for the sources of the enclosed information.I cannot guarantee the accuracy of the research of those from whom I gathered this information. The most I have done is to compile information from other sources, authors and researchers so that we, the Furbee's and those related to us, can draw our family close. Any work of this nature is complicated. If you find any discrepancies, please share them with me by letter or E-mail, and also please share the sources from which the information is derived. Some of this compilation is from my Mother's side of the family. You may not be personally interested in those lines, but they are definately part of my life, and so are included here. I have located no Royalty, few are wealthier than anyone in upper middle class American society, and even fewer in places of power or stardom. But be assured, our ancestors certainly played important roles in the places where they lived. They were the pioneers of Delaware and Virginia/West Virginia, and the Ohio River Valley and it's tributaries; the Salt of the Earth, as it were, tillers of the land, miners and business men, husbands, fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and brothers. And don't leave out the women. They bore the children and sometimes the arms as well. They tended the homes and kept the fires of the family alive. They often tilled the fields along with their men, as well as raise their own gardens. They were Bible reading, God loving people, helpers to their neighbors, the "social workers" of their day. Everyone suffered losses of family members, friends, and neighbors. And many live there still. Some of us whose lives have taken different turns still look back upon the ancestors for direction and life patterns upon which we model our own. My father was Clark Furbee, born February 15, 1896, died May 30, 1953.I was 21 when he passed, and I miss him yet!I am 73 years old now, and still find myself using his life-long principles for myself and my family (2 children, 4 grandchildren, and 4 greatgrandchildren). Those principles have served us well, and will continue to serve my descendants in the future. I look forward to hearing from you. God bless you, always.
