Born, March 17, 1853 at Lincoln, Sunbury Co, N.B. of Colonial-English Loyalist ancestry.Son of the Hon. John Baskey and his wife eveline garrity, both residents of that place.
Educated at the Lincoln Public School, at Sheffield Academy, and at the Collegiate School in Fredericton, N.B.
Located at Lincoln and engaged in the lumber industry established by his father.
Unsuccessfully contested Sunbury County for the House of Assembly at the General Elections of June 1882.First elected as one of the member for Sunbury County at the By-Election held December 4, 1883 to fill the vacancy created by the death of the sitting member, A. G. Sterling.His return was protested and at a new election held January 1885, he was again elected.Re-elected at the General Election of Aoril 26, 1886 and sat until the dissolution of Parliament in 1890.At the General elections of 1890 and 1892 he was defeated and subsequently retired from active politics.
He subsequenatly received a Civil Service appointment, removed to Ottowa, Ontario and retained that position until his death.
He died in 1922 at Ottawa, aged 69 years.Buried in forest Hill Cemetery, Fredericton, N.B.
He left his property to his cousin Grace Wilson.
