|My family research has been an interesting and sometimes frustrating one, and continues to be to this day. My mother's side has proven to be somewhat easy as searches go. My father's side has been very difficult and has not gotten very far. You will find links below to both of these family lines.|
My grandfather, on my father's side, was Harry Harrison FILLIUS, born in Philadelphia, PA in December 1890. The youngest of 13 children I am told. I have found the names of some of those brothers and sisters, they were Joseph (Jody) FILLIUS, Mary FILLIUS, Margaret FILLIUS, Katherine FILLIUS, Theodor FILLIUS, and Lynwood or Lindley FILLIUS.The mother and father of these siblings was a Joseph and Mary FILLIUS. Mary's maiden name is unknown to me at this time but her parents were born in Ireland according to a Baptismal certificate from Chapel Prince of Peace in Philadelphia for my grandfather.
There is a Joseph FILLIUS who is the Civil War soldier in the 114th Pennsylvania Volunteers, a unit known as Collis' Zouaves, who is buried in Mt Moriah Cemetery, Soldiers' Plot, Kingsessing St, Phila, PA. This Civil War soldier, whose name is on a PA monument in Gettysburg, is probably the grandfather of my grandfather (Harry H. Fillius Sr). Anyone having information on any of these FILLIUS people please email me, I would be willing to share information.Click on the LINK below for this family tree.
The FILLIUS family locations are PA and NJ as far as I know and prior to arrival in USA, were from Ireland and France and/or Germany.
On my mother's side I am researching: BORDEN, IVINS, SLEEPER, SCOTT, HOWLAND, ALLEN, LAYTON, and others. I have included some of the Sleeper and Ivins information in the links below. The locations for my mother's side of the family are mostly NJ, PA, NY, RI, MA. Most of these families originate in England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland.
My husband is also researching his family which include GOFF, LAFFERTY, VAN HISE, WEBB, BAILEY, ANDERSON, NORCROSS, PETTIT. These are mostly in NJ and many originated in England.
Please contact me to share information. Thank you.
