Fred A. Peavy 70, a World War 1 machine gunner with the first infantry Division died Wednesday at a local hospital.
Mr Peavy lived at no. 10 Village Court. A resident of birmingham 16 years,he was a boiler fireman and a Baptist.He was born in Mississippi.
He served in Europe with the first Division.
Surviving are his wife,Mrs Louise B Peavy; a sonWilliam G. Peavy of Birmingham;two Daughters, Mrs George Canuet and Mrs James E Newton, Both of Guyton Ga.;eight grandchildren, and several brothers and sisters
Funeral services will be held at 10 am Saturday at Leslie Thompson Funeral Home in Springville Ga.with burial in Guyton Cemetery.Johns-rideouts southside is in charge of local arrangements.
