This page is dedicated to tracing the family tree of my paternal grandparents, Alonzo Theodore Goodwin(1900-1977)and Miriam Williams (1900-1994). This is a really cool family we share. As I began to learn about their lives and times and make connections from one generation to another I felt that sharing this information would bring excitement to others in my family, who in turn may reward me with even more information. Our ancestors were immigrants, Quakers and soldiers (and maybe both at the same time) ministers and a lot of farmers. Our ancestors helped build large parts of the country in states as diverse as Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Ohio, Indiana, Wisconsin, Oregon and Washington. They were part of great historical events including the quest for religious freedom in 17th century Britain, the settlement of the "Northwest Territories" now the states of Ohio and Indiana; they followed the National Road and were contemporaries of William Penn, Daniel Boone, and Henry Clay. They left the British famine of the mid-19th century. Our ancestors participated in the Underground Railroad and fought in the Civil War. So here it is, the website for the descendants of A. Ted and Miriam Williams Goodwin. Bob Goodwin Oct. 2005
