The Knight - Haggard FamilyUpdated May 21, 2002
|A couple of my cousins and I have been doing research on our family tree for some time now.(I hope we've found all the brick walls we'll find for a while, and when we find our way over or around them, we can move backward in time - a bit!)|
My family lines include my Mom's Norwegian Johnson and Agneberg lines, my Dad's lines include the names Knight, Nutt, Miles, Lincoln, & Tuttle. My Husband's lines include the names Haggard & Goff.
I'm a novice at this, so I'm sniffing at my cousin's heels to see what I can find.Recently we found my Great Grandma's mother, Acilia Lincoln, and her parents, Chauncy Lincoln and Nancy Jane Coe, in the 1850 census records of Ionia Michigan! Now all we have to do is find Chauncy's parents, somewhere in Vermont, and Nancy Jane Coe's ancestors somewhere in New York...What a treasure hunt it is.
And my husband's great grandfather, William Martin Haggard, was in the Civil War (fighting for the South), and I THINK he was in the 5th Tennessee Calvary, but haven't been able to verify that yet, or find out what part of Tennessee he was from, or who his parents were, etc.His wife is also without any kind of history at this point. They were married about 1855 in Tennessee, and she was a widow with a 5 year old boy.Her name was Elizabeth Regan Douglass, her son was Vinson Douglas.
I'd love to hear from anyone with information on these people,
whether it's about them, to fill out their personal stories with what they did in life, or to add parents, siblings, or other ancestors to the tree.
