This online page is to celebrate my Father's rich family history in America from early Colonial Virginia 1655 thru the Revolution and Civil War, World War II and to the present while moving Westward to Tennesee, Missouri, Texas and California. John Christian was the Principal of the Local school, ran a sewing machine and tombstone business.Went to church every Sunday and every Wednesday night(Southern Baptist).A Big strong man.As a child I watched him wrestle a heavy marble toombstone intoplace by himself.Helped Ruth Put all his sons and daughter thru college.1/8 Cherokee, English and German ancestors. - John C. They are holding Barbara A.Mayfield in Monticelloacross the street from the Parsonage in 1939 or 40, shortly before Robert went into the Army. This was the only time Ruth and John C. came to visit us in Monticello. - John Christian and Ruth Mayfield and family (95 KB)
