Notes for Owen Martin:
Owen Martin was convicted at Fermanagh Ireland in 1790 aged 18. He was sentenced to 7 years in the colony.
He arrived in Sydney in 27 September, 1791 on the convict ship “Queen”as part of the 3rd Fleet.
Sarah Walden aka Wharton/Warfort/Warfont/Oatley was transported to Australia as a convict on the "Kitty" in 1792. She was assigned to Owen Martin as a convict servant and was listed as appointed to him in “Governor Hunter Women Convict Assignment Report 1798” a return of convict women in the services of Officers or other households.
Owen and Sarah did not marry. In 1795 a daughter Sarah was born, on 3 March 1796 Rose (Rosetta) Martin was born in Parramatta. A son Owen jnr was born in about 1800 died 1846, another son Thomas was born (date unknown).
Owen later had two children with Catherine Osborne a convict from the ship "Glatton", the children being Mary born 1806 and Patrick born 1808.
On 1/10/1796 Owen was granted 30 acres of land at Toongabbie.(from Toongabbie (Part 2) by John McClymont)
On 1/2/1811 Owen was granted a Certificate of Emancipation (State Records of NSW)

Owen died in August, 1821 and was buried at St John's Church Parramatta.
