Researching the Hemminger family from Wurttemberg & Volhynia.
Records indicate Hemmingers in Nagold Wurttemberg in the early 1500's. It is possible they came to Nagold from Hemmingen (just north of Stuttgart). Some moved to Kochonow Poland near the end of the 1700's and on to Friedrichsdorf (Solomki) Volhynia in the first half of 1800's. A few Hemmingers arrived in Canada about 1900-1902 from Volhynia and settled in Thalberg (just north of Beausejour) and other small towns in southern Manitoba. Some family members later moved to Michigan and BC. Generations of Hemmingers are recorded as cloth-makers and later as farmers.
