I am a second generation American. My mother's parents (Anna Grossman and Charles Citron or Sitron, possibly shortened at entry or shortly thereafter to the US) and father's parents (Rebecca Cohen and Abraham Herman) came to the US around the turn of the century. The Citrons/Sitrons are of Russian descent (exact location unknown), and the Hermans are of Romanian descent (exact location unknown).Anna Grossman/Citron's birth date is unknown and died in 1960. Charles Citron was born in 1888 and died in 1971. Children's name are Rubin, Helen, Selma, Maurice, Carl, and Ralph.Rebecca Cohen/Herman was born in 1897 and died in 1966. Abraham Herman's birth date is unknown and died in 1969. Children's names are Paul and Dinah. It is believed that the Hermans, Grossmans, Citrons/Sitrons, and Cohens all originally settled in NYC (the Bronx and/or Harlem), however, the Citrons may have first settled in Buffalo, NY before living in NYC.My mother's name is Selma (1923-) and my father name is Paul (1919-1976).Any information regarding the Hermans and Citrons/Sitrons and their European lineage, and current status of family members is greatly appreciated.
