Research four main families: Hobby and Moore on my father's side and Blanchard and Plumb and my mother's side. Plus all the associated families that go along with all those names. I am following the footsteps of my grandfather who became a member of the Sons of the American Revolution back in the late 1950's.Once he accomplished this, he stopped doing all research. So my Hobby side is the least researched. My Great Aunt Ruby contributed the Moore family side and I am deeply indebted to her work in the South. She had files and extensive work on the Wallace, Griffin and other families down there. My great-Grandfather on my mother's side authored the Blanchard Memorial who now resides out in Utah at the Mormon Genealogy research center. He also attended the 300th anniversary of the Mayflower landing in Plymouth in 1920.I got the bug most from this book and the talks my mother gave me about walking around the graveyards looking at stones to get dates. I turned to a rather large sized book on the Plumb family which started in the Connecticut area, moving up the Connecticut River into Vermont and then back to North Adams, Massachusetts. I am willing to share my research will anyone willing to reciprocate.I have spent many hours in the libraries here in Masschusetts and other New England states pouring over the towns' vital records and other families histories providing documentation to back up whatever I have found. |
