|Our family history has become quite an addiction. One little fact can lead to many others and then I found myself doing research on people that were barely related to us, so I had to reign myself back in and concentrate on our direct ancestors.|
The Herrmann and Katzenbach families emigrated to the US in the 1800s and therefore I can only go back that far. Researching overseas records becomes difficult, although not impossible.
The Forbush family, on the other hand, came to the US from Scotland in the 1600s and took Massachusetts by storm. The availability of information online was amazing and you'll see that I have extensive history on the Forbushes - actually, it is surmised that we come from the Forbes clan in Scotland and since most of our ancestors could not read or write - town clerks recorded birth, marriage, and death records according to the way Forbes was prounounced with a Scottish accent - something like Farrabus. Some branches of the family kept the name Forbes, and others are Farbush, Ferbush, Firbush, Furbush, and finally, Forbush.
The information contained on this website, to the best of my knowledge, is true and accurate. It is a continually evolving project and will be updated as new/corrected information is discovered. Have fun exploring our ancestors and our history!
Note: In order to publish this tree, I had to scale down the people included - mostly Forbushes. But the information here sufficiently documents our direct ancestors.
