|This is a page dedicated to research into the families, and extended families of the surnames: Hudson (of Dayton, OH), Harned (everywhere), Closson (anywhere, but somehow connected to William Carver Closson), McLean (McLane, McLain & other spellings)of PA and GuilfordCo., NC, Mebane (of NC), Harmon (before and after Randolph Co., IL), Porter (of Seward, Nebraska and vicinity), and such others as later connect.|
The McLean-Mebane connection is closely related to the patriot Scots Vs. loyalist Scots of the Piedmont region of Carolina.Joseph McLean was born at Philadelphia Co., PA, 13 Sep 1752.He married Margaret Mebane in NC and , ostensibly she died in 1816. Joseph was placed on the pension list for service from 1775-81 in the North Carolina militia, serving under Captains Forbes and Whitesell of Colonel Paisley's regiment of Continental Forces.
Joseph died 13 Dec 1832 and is buried at Alamance Presbyterian Church Cemetery, about seven miles south of Greensboro, NC.
I would sincerely appreciate your assistance with anything related to the people, their times and ancedotes. In turn, if we have a connection I will do the same for you.
With Warmest Wishes,
