|I have been, and I am still, investigating the descendants of Friedrich Hübner. My great grandfather Carl Heinrich Theodore Hübner (Huebner) was born 20 Aug 1864, he came to America in 1883 or 1884, (I find it both ways in the census reports. He died 01 Jan 1937 in Postville, Iowa of cancer.|
Two other Hübner families (relatives)immigrated to the US.I am unable to locate them.
I did locate living relatives in Austraila and Germany. In 2002 I had relatives come from Germany to visit.Harro, my German relative, was also doing family research and much information was shared. He too is trying to locate the two lost Hübner families.
These are the families we search for.
The first, Carl Johann Heinrich Daniel Hübner, born January 14, 1818 in Kuchow, Germany. He married Maria Johanne Friedercia Gierz December 19, 1852 in Hoen Pritz, Germany. She was born February 27, 1831.They had two children, 1.-- Freidrich Johann Wilhelm Hübner, born April 05, 1854; died January 04, 1857, in Germany.2.-- Friederica Maria Christine Hübner, born August 27, 1856 in Demen, Germany. They immigrated to America in 1857 through New York.I have been unable to locate them after they arrived in the US.
The second family is Johann Friedrich Christoph Hübner, born Sept 24, 1836 in Kukuk-Hohen Pritz, Germany. He married Sophie Christina Frederike Nagel in Germany. She was born July 7, 1839 in Stavenhagen, Germany. They had two children.Anna Louise Caroline Hübner and Maria Friederike Christine Ernestien Hübner.Twin girls born November 16, 1870 in Gustrow,Germany.
They immigrated to America November 01, 1871, from Hamburg to New York.On the departure log Johann lists his name as "Chr Hübner" and gives his wife's name as "Anna" and daughters Anna and Maria. On the arrival log Anna, (the wife) is now listed as a niece.I have been unable to locate this family.I have recently tried to locate just the husband, Johann, and the two girls, assuming that the wife may have died and that it may have been a niece posing as his wife to leave Germany.I've tried every angle I could think of with no luck to date.
I LOCATED THIS FAMILY AFTER YEARS OF LOOKING.THEY WERE IN NEW YORK AND DETROIT.THE SPELLING OF THE NAME HAD CHANGED TO HEPNER.
If you are a Huebner by any spelling of the name, and think you may have any information that may help me locate these families, please contact me.I know that Harro (the relative from germany that visited us)now in his 80's would love to find these families, as would I.
Harro and I share a common fate.I, having only a daughter, am the last in my line to carry on the name.Harro has a son, and a daughter and two grand daughters, but without a grandson his line will also soon die off. This make the task of locating the two lost families even more important to us.
If you think you may have any information that may help, please contact me.I will be glad to share all I can to help you also if I can.
