My Daddy, James Monroe came from a large family he is the 5th child from a family of 13 children. My Grandfather, was James Franklin McNeill who married Susan Hester Wayland. My dad, James Monroe was married twice. His first wife was Gussie Sexson, and they had 5 children 2 girls and 3 boys. Roxie, Pearl, Russell, Paul and James. They divorced and James Monroe, married Iris Maxine Smith, and from this union can two children, Ralph Henry and myself, Brenda Kay. I meet some of his brothers and sisters.I new Ben, Steve, Maude and of course my Dad.Yes, James Monroe was my Dad and he died when I was only 13 months old, Daddy had a stroke and it was so bad that God took him home.I can remember as a child my Mom (Iris Smith McNeill) and I would walk to the cementry just about everyday and she would stand and cry, and I would always say, Mom its ok please don't cry.Mrs. Sadie Roundtree, worked in her yard and Mommy usually stop and visit a few minutes and she ask mom one day way she walked to the cementry every day, and mom replyed that she missed Daddy, Ms Roundtree said,"he not there," and mom replyed, "no, but that body that I loved is still there."Well, Mom died 29 November 1984 and she don't miss him any more, now I (Brenda) miss both of them every day that passes.
