Notes for Albert Jules Fricker:
His older sister was 14 when he was born.He was the joy of the family - Vic and Eugenie as well.He always was very outgoing and friendly. He knew everyone all up and down the street :neighbors, postmen, etc.He always has been this way - that he became a very successful salesman just followed. He joined the Sea Bee's - the Navy engineering division (construction batallion} and shipped off to the south Pacific. The battalions went in first to construct landing strips for air support. This was the big adventure of these young men's lives - those that returned. The bonds that were formed are with them always.
It was difficult for young boys at that time in school - too many distractions going on with the war, etc.Al volunteered for the service and chose the Navy and left for the Great Lakes Naval Training Station along the west shore of Lake Michigan north of Chicago.
