I was born in Sheffield on the 8th June 1964 to Roland & Jean. I have two brothers Alan & Richard.
ALAN (birthday :- 5th June) is married to LINDA (nee Bray), They were married at Mount View Methodist Chapel in Sheffield. They have a son named Kyle. Linda has two children from her previous marriage, Stephen & Joanne. They are both beginning there own families.
RICHARD (birthday :- 24th January) was married in Saffron Walden Cambridgeshire, and then divorced.
My Father ROLAND (birthday :- 16th March)(Died :- 25th September 1985) was born and brought up in Sheffield as far as I am aware. He was injured on Omaha Beach on D-Day; I remember the scars on his leg. He was in the RAF and visited Burma & India. He later became a postman. He died in Sheffield of a coronary Atheroma at 36 Hollythorpe Road, Norton Lees. His ashes are spread in Hutcliffe wood crematorium. I know nothing of his Parents, but his family was quite large. He had a twin brother called NOEL, who in turn has a son called CLIVE, whom I know very little about except they used to live in meadowhead area of the city of Sheffield and Clive is younger than me. One of his sisters Vera (I think) also lived in this area.
My Mother JEAN (Birthday :- 18th April 1926)(Died :- 7th October 1997) was born in Sheffield to ELSIE(nee Beighton) and JAMES SMYTH. Her father was of Irish descent and I am told that My Great Grandfather was the Chief constable of Dublin. There is also a connection somewhere with the Brocklehurst family, which I have never deciphered. Mum became a teacher at Newfield Comprehensive School, Sheffield. After Dad died she retired, remarried DON CROCKER, and moved to Cornwall. She had one older sister STELLA who married WILLIAM MAY and they in turn have two sons JAMES & ANDREW. They both have families, James in Sheffield, Andrew in Christchurch, New Zealand. Mum died in the Duchy Hospital, Truro of Cancer, her ashes joined those of my fathers at Hutcliffe Wood Crematorium.
There is also a Connection somewhere with the BROCKLEHURST family, which I have never deciphered.
DON CROCKER was in the forces in India and wrote a book about his life there of which I have the manuscript. He died on Good Friday 1995. His ashes were strewn in the river Camel, over the bridge in Wadebridge. He had a sister named Margaret in Bognor Regis, and a relative in Loughborough, called Vera. Vera has a daughter who has two sons.
I am now known as PETER D. CROCKER - JAQUES, and live in Cornwall & Wales. I own and run pubs and clubs for a living. I am gay & proud of it but as there is very little chance of any progeny then my name will die with me!!
