Baz Hunt was a farmer most of his life.As a young man he spent a week at Valporaiso University in IN but quickly became homesick and returned home.Besides farming he also trained horses.He had one mare that had some famous horse blood in her and was the fastest horse around.Clyde remembers that when they went to Modoc the local boys would race their horses with this mare but she always won.During the Depression, his health failed and they moved to town (Winchester).Clyde passed papers, worked in a drug store, and went to high school at the same time.Baz caught pneumonia while making maple syrup and died several days later.
His mother's obituary calls him "Bath" Hunt.

Obit-Bazel Hunt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher Hunt, was born in Randolph County, In on September 24, 1860.He departed this life March 12, 1939, at the age of 78 years, 5 months, and 16 days.
On December 25, 1877 he was united in marriage to Miss Belle Jones by the Rev. J. Cook.To this union were born 4 children.A son Don Carroll, died May 7, 1896 at the age of nine months.
He leaves to mourn his departure the bereaved widow; 2 son s, James of Muncie, and Clyde at home; one daughter, Mrs. Garver Edwards of Huntsville, and 4 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
The father, mother, 5 brothers and 1 sister have preceded him in death.
In early life, he was converted and united with the Mississinawa Christian Church of which he was a member until a few years ago when he, with Mrs. Hunt, moved their memberships to the Congregational Christian church at Winchester.He loved his church and after his hearing became impaired where he could not enjoy the blessings of the worship service, he received many blessings from reading the word of God and expressed to his family a few hours before his passing his trust and hope in Christ.
