Died-August 18th, Mrs. Nancy Ward, wife of John Ward, of Farmland being about 75 years old.
She was born in Pickaway Co. OH, was married to John Ward Aug. 28, 1834, and soon moved to Tipecanoe Co. In 1840 they moved to Clinton Co. OH and came to Randolph Co. in 1853.She was the mother of 10 children, 4 of whom are living, and together with their father, mingled their tears over her departure.Mother Ward was reconciled to God in early life and for over 60 years exemplified her profession by a quiet and peaceful life.Since 1834 she has been a member of the M.E. Church.She suffered greatly for many years, often saying "I don't see why I can't go".A brief service was had at the home by Revs. J.A. Moorman and J.B. Cook, after which her remains were followed to Fairview where she was laid to rest August 19th in hopes of the resurrection.
Nancy's death certificate lists her father as Magee Lingrel and her mother as (?) Silver.
