History of Wayne Co.-p. 302.Article on Levi Stanley "Mrs. Stanley's parents, Samuel and Mary (Davenport) Butler were natives of Georgia.They had a family of 8 children--Susan, Melinda, Mary, Jesse, Beal, William, Jacob, and Rebecca.Mrs. Butler died Aug 3, 1831 and Mr. Butler subsequently married Jane Osborn.Of their 4 children, 2 are living--Chatfield and Emeline."
On 28 Jan 1815 he was disowned by the Whitewater MM for military training.
Samuel moved his family from Wayne Co. IN to Whitley Co. IN around 1843.He was in Page Co. IA by 1860.The rest of the family moved there in 1855 so he probably moved then also.
