Christopher Hussey (b. Abt. 1598, d. Abt. 1686)Christopher Hussey (son of John Hussey and Mary Wood) was born Abt. 1598 in Dorking, Surry, England, and died Abt. 1686 in Hampton, Rockingham, New Hampshire.He married Theodate Bachelder on Bef. 1629 in England, daughter of Stephen Bachelder.

Christopher came to America on the ship William and Francis arriving in Boston on June 6, 1632.He settled first at Lynn, MA and then Newbury, MA.In 1638 he moved to Hampton, NH where he served as Representative in the General Assembly.
He assisted in the settlement of Haverhill, MA.A devout Quaker he got into trouble with the MA government and refused to apologize.He moved to Nantucket to avoid religious persecution.
Farmer-Genealogical Register of first settlers-Christopher Hussey, p. 155.One of the first settlers of Newbury and Hampton, was born at Dorking, in Surry, in England.Was admitted as freeman 1634, was at Hampton 1639, and the representative 1658,1659,and 1660.Was a provincial counsellor of NH and d. 1685.He married Theodate, daughter of Rev. Stephen Bachelor and left 2 sons and several daughters.Stephen lived in Nantucket and died there in 1718, age 88.John became a Quaker preacher and living in Newcastle, Delaware.Joseph, a captain of Hampton, and the representative in 1672.
