Obituary:Evening Republican, Columbus, Dec. 18, 1946:Former local resident dies:Mrs. Adkins, Sister of Daniel Greenfield, to be buried here.Mrs. Christian Adkins, 73, of 1539 North Oxford Street, Indianapolis, sister of Daniel W. Greenfield of East Columbus, and former resident of this city, died at 5:15 Monday evening at City hospital in Indianapolis, following several weeks' illness and a major operation.
Mrs. Adkins was the daughter of the late Daniel W. and Samantha Greenfield and was born and raised in this county.She was married to George W. Adkins and they resided in Columbus a number of years before going to Indianapolis for residence.Mr. Adkins preceded her in death a few years ago.
Besides the brother here, she is survived by 2 sons and a daughter, Howard, and Earl Adkins, and Mrs. Earl Roberts; a sister and brother, Mrs. Amy Kemp and the Rev. Charles P. Greenfield, all of Indianapolis; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 Thursday morning at Moore's Peace Chapel in Indianapolis and burial will be at city cemetery here.
The funeral party is expected to arrive here between 12:00 and 12:30 and there will be a short service at the grave.
