Francis Owen Smead Plumb was born 1827 in WindhamCounty, Vermont, died in Yuba City , Sutter Co., Ca..He married Hannah Heath on January 1, 1849.

F.O.S. plumb....mechanic. Born 1827.......Moved to Massachusetts, and lived until 23 years of age, when he moved to Maine and lived until 1859. In that year he came to California by water.
He took Passage aboard the "North Star" in the Atlantic, and the Pacific aboard the "Uncle Sam".
He first settled in Solano County for 18 Months than moved Marysville where he lived for 6 months.
In 1861 he came to Sutter County, and engaged in carpentering and painting.
He owns 84 acres, 3/4 of a mile Nortwest of Yuba City.
The property was searched for in 1985, but could not be located because of the expansion of Yuba City.
Business cards were obtained for his business in Chicoppe, Mass. He and son Francis had a painting business there in 1885.
